September 27, 2005: We are pleased to announce the release of Voxengo Vintage Modulator 1.3 PC VST plug-in — a massive modulation effects plug-in with a great sound and many features.

This update implements a new “Delay” parameter for additional control over modulation sound. “Wet Cut” parameter has been added as well, to control high frequency content of the “wet” modulated signal.

“OpPhasing” parameter has been introduced to allow control over phase relations between modulation voices: with this parameter it is possible to switch between the “original” spatial stereo modulation sound and mono modulation sound.

Those who intend to use Vintage Modulator with their favorite synth instruments may find the new “Latency Off” switch useful.  This switch disables plug-in’s “through time zero” functionality while at the same time reducing plug-in’s latency down to zero, to allow for real-time use of the plug-in.

April 4, 2005: Version 1.2 features operator count selector which allows you to switch between simple and complex modulation sound; feedback can be negative now; wet modulated signal can be inverted now.

Introduction of the operator count selector created a possibility of dialing in of a simple classic flanger sound: check the new ‘Classic Flange’ preset out for the demonstration of this sound.

  Can you ever have enough VST plugins? When our computers become true AI machines, they’ll tell you YES and block you from installing more plugins until you’ve finished that track (I know a few people who would pay for such a service). Until then – you’re left to your own devices and the restriction of hard drive space…

  90%+ of the plugins below are Mac/Win and 64-bit with a few occasional plugins being OS dependent. For this resource I’ve steered clear of 32-bit plugins as most mix engineers/producers nowadays are running 64-bit OSes. Yes, you can use 32 lives and Jbridge but that adds an extra expense – not making the plugin truly free as you need to purchase a VST wrapper. Will do another post in the future of classic 32-bit plugins for those who want to delve back in time to extract some gold using esoteric plugins effects.

  All download links below take you to the developer’s site (the VST effects landing page) rather than pointing directly towards the DMG/Zip installers. Most of the plugin developers featured are working solo and creating innovative instruments/effects as their main source of income.
